Multi-Level Fitness Center

Our multi-level fitness center offers a variety of choices for members looking to lose or maintain their weight, tone or strengthen muscle mass or simply stay fit & healthy. Some of the many options include circuit training, weight resistance equipment, cardio stations and free weights.

Gymnasium

The indoor gymnasium features a full-length basketball court and is used for all adult athletic programs, including personal training and fitness classes. Adult basketball games are played every Sunday morning and Tuesday evenings in the gym. Children’s recreational activities are typically held in the gym over the fall, winter and early spring months during the late afternoons.

Heated Indoor Pool

The six lane indoor heated pool is open year round and during all normal operating hours. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult or person over 15 years old. The indoor pool area also features a heated spa, which is open whenever the indoor pool is open, and is available for our members, age 18 years and older, to enjoy.

Pickleball

Come join the Pickleball craze and learn how to play America’s fastest growing sport! The IC has state-of-the-art outdoor pickleball courts for our members and their guests. Members can reserve courts up to 48 hours in advance. Guests will be charged a $15 guest fee. The courts are located in the rear of the property behind the tented pavilion. Please wear sneakers and proper athletic clothing.

Platform Tennis Courts

During the fall and winter months, take a break from the indoors on one of our three illuminated platform tennis courts. Members are invited to join our platform tennis program which regularly competes in the Fairfield County Platform Tennis League. Our Platform tennis pro is available for private lessons or clinics for adults and juniors looking to improve their game.

4 Outdoor Pools

During the warmer months, the recreational possibilities at the IC are endless. Within a picturesque setting, members can enjoy three sun-drenched outdoor pools…two for both adults and older children, and one exclusive Kiddie pool for the youngest children. Our largest pool includes zero entry for handicap access, two diving boards, adult lap lanes and a 36 foot water flume.

3 Bocce Courts

Our three bocce courts, located at our rear picnic grounds, are open year round, weather permitting. Availability is limited during the summer day camp sessions and when ever the picnic grounds are in use. Reservations can be made by calling the Athletic office at 203.322.6941, extension 114. We will supply the bocce balls or you can bring your own.

Playground

Enjoy our IPEMA certified outdoor playground which offers a variety of play systems for young children. Safe and kid friendly, each play station is designed to help meet the development needs of younger children as they romp and play with their friends.

Miniature Golf Course

Enjoy playing on our fun and challenging 12 hole miniature golf course which traditionally opens for play on Memorial Day weekend and closes for the season on Labor Day. Children 5 years and under must be accompanied by an adult. We supply the clubs and balls.

10 HarTru Tennis Courts

Our 10 Har-Tru tennis courts are amongst the finest in Fairfield County and our summer tennis program has traditionally been one of our strongest assets. Members can sign up for a private or group lesson with our tennis pro or join one of the IC tennis teams.

Disc Golf

Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. However, instead of a ball and clubs, players use a flying disc, or Frisbee® which is thrown to a basket.

4 Illuminated Tennis Courts

Our four rear har-tru tennis courts are illuminated for night play.

Large Water Flume

Our 36 foot water flume in our large outdoor pool is a big hit with kids of all ages!

Snack Bar

Grab a snack, drink or meal at our delicious and convenient snack bar that is open late morning until nighttime during the summer months.

Ping Pong

Enjoy a game of Ping Pong located near the playground and mini golf.

Summer Camp Facilities

Our Summer Day Camp Program utilizes our outdoor picnic area each day. The grounds are made up of more than 8 acres of land giving campers more than enough space to run around and have fun!

Basketball Court

Prerequisite 1

Jump in, submerge, resurface and swim 150 yards continuously, tread water for 2 minutes, and then swim 50 more yards. While swimming, you must keep your face in the water and demonstrate good breath control. You may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both. Swimming on the back or side is not permitted. Swim goggles are allowed. When treading, you must use only your legs.

Prerequisite 2

Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Your face may be in or out of the water. Swim goggles are not allowed. Surface dive (head-first or feet-first) to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on your back to return to the starting point, holding the object at the surface with both hands and keeping your face at or near the surface. Swimming the distance underwater is not permitted. Exit the water without using a ladder or the steps.

This course follows a blended learning model, which combines online coursework with in-person sessions. You will receive an email from the American Red Cross with instructions for accessing the online course content. To get started, log in to the Red Cross Learning Center and from your home page, click on the class. Please plan to complete all of the assigned online course modules at least 2 days prior to the corresponding in-person session. The online course content (16 modules) is designed to be completed in approximately 6 hours, with each module taking between 15 and 30 minutes to complete. You may require more or less time to complete each module. I recommend beginning the online coursework as soon as possible to ensure that you are able to complete all of the assigned online modules in advance of the corresponding in-person sessions.
