Lifeguard Training (Become a Lifeguard)
What You’ll Learn:
- Prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies in both shallow water (less than 7 feet) and deeper water (7 feet or more).
- Provide professional-level care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until emergency medical services (EMS) professionals take over.

- Members: $450
- Non-members: $500
2025 Weekend Sessions (choose one):
- May 16–18 | Jun 20–22
- Friday: 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Prerequisites:
Age: At least 15 years old by the final day of class

After registration, you’ll receive an email link to the online course.

If you pass the test and are hired by the IC,
you will be reimbursed the cost of tuition.
Lifeguard Recertification
What You’ll Learn:
Keep your skills current and extend your Red Cross lifeguard certification by 2 years with our recertification class.
Cost:
- Members: $180
- Non-members: $250
Dates & Times (choose one):
- May 9th - 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- May 10th - 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
- May 12 & 14 - 3:30 PM – 8:30 PM (one-day session)
Prerequisites:
- Current or recently expired (within 30 days) Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- Swimming Skills Test:
- 300-yard continuous swim (front crawl or breaststroke)
- Tread water 2 minutes (legs only)
- Retrieve a 10 lb. object from 7–10 ft. and swim 20 yards within 1 min 40 sec
- Written Exam: Score 80% or higher
After registration, an online portion (if required) will be emailed to you.


Scuba Diving Certification
What You’ll Learn:
Dive into adventure with our scuba diving lessons! Register and become a certified scuba diver!
Cost:
- Members: $550
- Non-members: $880
Prerequisites:
Please note there is an additional $220 for an online course the participant must register and pay for after they register with the IC.

Waterfront
Certification Class
This class will teach lifeguards the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and respond to emergencies in open-water areas. Candidates must possess a current American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate to participate in this class.
